"When you post an entry, you can use an "LJ-Cut" to hide everything underneath it with a link. This is useful for really long entries, hiding spoilers, and is usually done as a courtesy for your friends' Friends page."

Great! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DO THAT?!?!!! I can't post any of my stories anywhere until I figure this out, and it doesn't seem to say anywhere! *continues to feel anger*
*decides to try to use google to maybe find a step-by-step actually INFORMATIVE instructon guide... later.*

Hi thar! You could try a client (a little software you install on your computer and that commujnicates with the LJ server).
I use semagic, it´s not perfect but it works quite well with editing older stuff, creating cuts, links and so forth.
Good luck!

OK, fundamentally it's just another tag.

If you need to put it in using the HTML interface, you put just before whatever text you don't want people to see straight away the following:

(lj-cut)

-except replacing the ( and ) with < and > marks

Then you just add in

(/lj-cut)

- replacing ( and ) with < and > again

after the text you want to cut. There are more complicated ways of putting text in the cut itself, but that's the most basic.

Thanks! That actually sounds really easy to use.
